I, too, had a great Mother's Day! After church, we all had lunch together at my in-laws, then Matt, Becca, Tony and I went to the movies. We went to see "Iron Man", which I really enjoyed. Dawn and the Slacker showed up right before it started and that was an added bonus! We stayed in the parking lot for an hour after the show watching Tony and Shaun just be Tony and Shaun. Matt has it on tape..! Then to Wally World where, believe it or not, at 8:30 in the evening of Mother's Day, people were still buying cards and gifts!!! It was Crazy! All in all, it was a very enjoyable day. I gave small gifts to each of my kids and it was great - they were totally unexpected and so that much more enjoyable to give!
Monday brought beautiful temps and sunshine and the opportunity to gather with my fellowship sisters Monday evening for a Mother/Daughter pot luck. Due to the gas prices and unplanned trips to town, I had not planned to go, but, as the day went on, I changed my mind. I'm so glad I did. It was a wonderful night and turned out to be such a blessing and encouragement for me. A reminder of what is truly important and a call to focus on higher things.
